Weekend

This weekend was painfully fun. Saturday we decided to have dinner at the parents house since Ben was getting off early. I brought the 9mm and the shotgun so we could do some shooting. I watched Ben and Leigh shoot skeet for a while (i was not shooting because i didn't want to have the gun going off to close to my face) and then decided I needed to have more shotgun experience. Needless to say Leigh took full advantage of showing me in home defense poses and even got a huge piece of plywood and outlined Ben's body on it so I would have a accurate target. After shooting a ton of rounds my armpit and inside my arm is bruised up. It was worth it because I now know how to aim the shotgun if someone decides to break in and try to rape me.

On Sunday some friends of ours visited our church for the first time. We were so thankful that God put it in there hearts to go and we saw it as an opportunity to minster to them more. We sadly shy ed away from talking to them about the Lord because they are devote Buddhist. After church we went over to there house and started to talk about Christianity and the cool thing is they were asking questions. We decided to go pick up lunch for everyone( the tasty taco bell) and that's when Ben and I decided to hang out all day with them. So we ate and talked and had a great time. Then Eric ask if we have ever played Wii. Not being big into video games we reluctantly said we'd try it. Soooo glad we did! Its was the best. The Wii fit made you work so hard and every muscle in my body hurts. If you have never played, please do it as soon as possible. I've already been looking to buy one but its hard to find them.

My Best Friends Wedding

Casey Wells and Kimmie Alsbrook are officially married. Yesterday Ben and I had the honor of being in the wedding party to witness their union. It was a beautiful day and the location was fabulous. Kim was the definition of classic beauty and Casey was handsome as always. The setting was one out of a fairy tail with wildflowers growing everywhere and Kim being escorted to the ceremony on a horse drawn carriage. The service was one of the best I have heard (and I've been in alot of weddings) as it was completely centered around God. It really puts joy in my heart that two people that I have deep feelings for would choose to base there vows to each other with God first then one another second. While the vows were being said I had a clear shot at Casey's face and there was joy and happiness on it as he was repeating the words to Kim. There was love in his eyes and that made me look at my own hubby (who was standing across from me) to find he was looking back at me with the same look in his eyes. Godly marriages produce the best marriages. After the service there was the long task of taking picture. I cant wait to see them! We then proceeded to the reception to have a delicious dinner and mingle. The best mans toast was none like I've ever heard. Casey's brother Russell gave a speech that none of us would ever guess he had in him. It was heart felt and he had all of us in tears. Very loving and honoring to the bride and groom. Good job Russell! Then Amber (Kim's sister) was so sweet and also loving with her words that she to made everyone tear up. She started crying and that tugged at our hearts even more. The cakes were so pretty and better than that they were sooooo good! I wish I had some now. When things started to wind down Ben and I decided to go to the next town that was about 10-15 minutes away to get beer for the after party. We get there and we realize that neither one of us had our wallets. That was a bummer. We drove back and I decided to stay and send Ben back to finish the mission. There was like 12 of us who stayed to hang out with the newlyweds and just relax. The evening was fun with conversation and drinks and a hot tub that was boiling our feet. Ben had to leave to go to work and I stayed on the hopes that people wouldn't be in bed by 10:00. The were in bed by 9:30. Understandably so, it had been a long day. Russell and Mel decided to drive back to Tyler and I jumped in with them to get to see one last glimpse of Ben before he went back to Franklin. The day was awesome and I am so happy I was apart of it. I love you Casey and Kimmie! Best wishes and Congrats!

Of yeah, I got a really bad sunburn. It hurts!!

Crazy Dreams

I had the weirdest dream last night. I think I'm going to start posting my dreams just so I can look back on them. Here it goes:

I was arriving by bus to a new town and by myself. No idea where I was but as soon as I got there a group of guys (who very very good lookin) came to greet me. One of them had some car that was the most awesome car on earth and he wanted to show me a trick. It was dark so the street lights were on and he told me to walk over to the light. He backed his car up to it and told me to hold on tight to the lamp. As I was doing that the most handsome guy in the world (of corse he had no face so it must have been Ben) said he would catch me. The other guy started the car and turned up his bumpin stereo and was playing Mozart's- O Fortuna. The song starts out slow but then gets really intense. As it does my legs shoot up and it was like I was in a hurricane holding on for dear life. He stoped the music and the cute faceless guy catches me.
The next day I'm at my new house when Jessica's mom calls and invites me to walk the March of Dimes with them, then swim in their new pool. I decline and start unpacking all my stuff. The house is a mess when all of the sudden Ben burst in the door. He says the town is in trouble and we have to save it. Aliens were coming in human form and trying to turn all of us. The only way to save them (and right before he told me) a "friend" kicks in our door to just say hi. Ben yells " grab the shot guns" and I have like 5 shot guns laying under stuff. We get the heck out of there and run to he hardware store to buy ammo. The retail guy doesn't have the right shells that we need so Ben starts making them. He said the only way to kill the aliens is by putting glass shards in the gun shells. While hes making them the actor that plays Kill Bills brother walks in and I can just tell he is out to get me so I start shooting him but I don't have the right ammo in my gun. He just absorbs all my shots. He starts running for us just as Ben gets his gun loaded and as Ben shoots him I woke up.
So that's it. I wish I could know if Ben's glass shard bullets saved us. I'm sure they did.

The little things.

It has been awhile since I have been able to post a new blog and that makes me 10% sad but I'm back and ready to share thoughts with the world. I have been helping a friend throw her wedding and it finally happened on Saturday March 29. I am so happy I was able to help and it went off perfect but I realized something in the process. I never want to plan a wedding again! It was like planning your own but you have the added pressure of will the bride like it. So, that wedding will be my first and last as a wedding planner.
Now on to the subject I wanted to write about. The little things in life that give you the kind of pleasure that nothing else can. I really feel you will agree with me while you read my list.

1. q-tips- there is nothing more exciting than getting out of the shower, jamming a q-tip in my ear, twisting it around, and pulling it out. Awwwww!

2. brushing- this is not something i do just in the morning or before bed. Any mood I'm in I can go to sink and start brushing my teeth and it will make that mood better. Don't forget the flossing and the best part- Listerine!

3. popping zits- now I know some of you will be grossed out but popping zits is awesome. You have one that is festering for days, it hurts, its ugly, but in my heart I'm happy its there. I know that at the right moment I will be able to squeeze that uncomfortable red spot and BOOM! Victory is mine.

4. sneezing- i love to sneeze! its like a really good action movie. You feel it start to build up, your heart starts pounding, you take a deep breath, here comes the climax, ACHEW!!!! Afterwards there is a clam, its over, you made. FYI- a sneeze when measured has the same power as a cat 5 hurricane.

5. taco bell- my favorite fast food. when I'm down, sad, upset, depressed or just really super hungry I jump in the car and head to taco bell. I hardly ever go in to dine but I love the drive through. I get my food, head home, and settle in on the couch to take that first bite. yummy! I know after that meal life will go on and I have taco bell to hold my hand and carry my through. just don't forget the Pepsi. They have it on fountain.

There are more but those 5 were in my heart to share with you right now. If you guys feel like sharing any of your little things I would love to hear them.
Love April

Cat Haiku

You never feed me.
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
That will sure show you.

You must scratch me there!
Yes, above my tail!
Behold, elevator butt.

The rule for today:
Touch my tail, I shred your hand.
New rule tomorrow.

In deep sleep hear sound cat
vomit hairball somewhere.
will find in morning.

Grace personified.
I leap into the window.
I meant to do that.

Blur of motion, then --
silence, me, a paper bag.
What is so funny?

The mighty hunterReturns
with gifts of plump birds --
your foot just squashed one.

You're always typing.
Well, let's see you ignore
my sitting on your hands.

My small cardboard box.
You cannot see me if
Ican just hide my head.

Terrible battle.
I fought for hours.
Come and see! What's a 'term paper?'

Small brave carnivores
Kill pine cones and mosquitoes,
Fear vacuum cleaner

I want to be close to you.
Can I fit my head
inside your armpit?

Wanna go outside.
Oh, poop! Help!
I got outside!Let me back inside!

Oh no!
Big One has been trapped by newspaper!
Cat to the rescue!

Humans are so strange.
Mine lies still in bed,
then screams; My claws are not that sharp.

My First Blog

I have links to loved ones blogs that I enjoy reading very much but never thought to create one of my own. Until today. As I was talking to sweet Jess about my adventures in art lessons she suggested creating one so she can keep up with my progress. That blog will be entered later:) So today I want to talk about my title. Pieces of April. The story is told that once upon a time my dad was a bit of a hippie. He enjoyed all the perks of the 70's, long hair, doing drugs, awesome clothes, crazy music, ect.... There is a song by Deep Purple called The Pieces of April to which the name April is said only once and you have to listen close to hear it. Now this is an eight minute song with the classic guitar solo that last 4 of those 8 minutes. Rumor has it that when he heard this "deep" song he knew that was what he had to name his first daughter April. So to bring this story to an end here I am. Thanks dad for not backing down and naming me April. Compared to some of the names my mom would have chose I feel lucky. Its a good name.
